In a world that is increasingly recognising the importance of inclusivity, education stands as a fundamental pillar shaping our society. Together Academy, is dedicated to fostering inclusive education and providing tailored experiences for students with Downs Syndrome.
People with Down syndrome are capable and willing to work in diverse roles, yet systemic barriers — from employer attitudes to policy gaps —continue to significantly limit their employment and societal inclusion worldwide. Countries with proactive inclusion policies (e.g., quotas, supports, awareness programs) and strong social rights frameworks tend to perform better overall, both in employment and quality of life measures.

Meet Charlie
Pembr works in collaboration with Together Academy by providing work experience and employment for students and graduates, and to date have welcomed 2 students on work experience and currently employs 1 graduate: Charlie O’Reilly.
Since he was a child, Charlie has always wanted to be a businessman. He had a dream of working in an office in Dublin and being able to gain his independence. Charlie has an amazing work ethic and infectious personality and was delighted to start with Together Academy.
Pembr partnered with Together Academy, a programme dedicated to equipping young adults with Down syndrome for the workforce. Charlie O'Reilly joined Pembr after graduating, bringing with him enthusiasm and a strong work ethic. The decision to hire Charlie was influenced by Pembr's values and desire to create a supportive workplace.
Pembr ensured that Charlie received the right support and opportunities to take on different roles, including delivery and meeting room management, allowing him to develop professionally and personally.
“Charlie joined our team over a year ago, and the joy and positive energy he brings to our workplace and our clients is always a delight.”

The event welcomes over 200 guests to see and learn about the work of Together Academy, as well as raise vital funds to support the students with specialised certified training, on the job experience, future work placements and a critical social and support network.
“The annual Together Academy x Pembr lunch is a fantastic opportunity to see first hand the inspiring work, and the impact it has on young adults with Down Syndrome. It’s a pleasure to be part of an initiative that creates such meaningful difference for so many.”
